Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the role and leadership strategies of the principal in improving teacher performance at MAS Guppi Samata Gowa. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with the use of secondary data that includes relevant documents, such as the school's annual report, the curriculum implemented, and teacher performance records and school evaluation results. In addition, secondary data was also obtained from related literature on educational leadership and transformation in the context of schools. The results of the study indicate that the principal has an important role in implementing policies that support the development of teacher professionalism and improve the quality of learning. Supporting factors in the educational transformation process include the principal's commitment, active teacher involvement, and support from parents and the community. However, there are several challenges faced, including limited resources and resistance to change. This study suggests the importance of collaboration with external parties and improving school culture that is more open to change.
