Keywords:

The purpose of this study is to analyze gender representation in politics in Papua's electoral districts that do not have female representation after the 2024 elections. This research examines the factors that cause the decline in women's participation as legislative candidates. The method used is qualitative with analytical-critical descriptive and literature study as data collection techniques. The findings show that patriarchy, lack of political participation, and social and economic hardship are the main factors that hinder people's ability to participate in politics. In addition, gender-based quotas that have not been effectively implemented also contribute to the low level of women's representation. This study suggests several ways to increase women's political participation, including gender equality, leadership training, and socialization initiatives to support the general public. It is hoped that by increasing women's representation, the resulting policies will be more inclusive and responsive to the needs of the entire community.
