STUDI PERBANDINGAN PEMIKIRAN LINGUISTIK AL-JURJANI DAN NAOM CHOMSKY: TEORI NAZM DAN GENERATIVE GRAMMAR

This article presents a detailed discourse on the theory of Generative Transformation by Noam Avrom Chomsky, and the theory of Nadzam by a famous Arab figure named Al Jurjani. In Arabic, Chomsky's theory is called Al Nadzariyah Al Taulidiyah Al Tahwiliyah. And in it is presented how many examples of the application of the Generative Transformation theory to Arabic grammar theory and vice versa, especially the Taqdim wa Ta'khir pattern. So it can be said that this article tries to compare the two thoughts of western and Arabic linguists, so that the birth of this article is expected to be a motivation for language researchers and researchers, because in linguistic studies it is not uncommon to find similarities in concepts and ideas between Arabic and western linguists.
