A SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW : PENGARUH INTENSIF DAN PROMOSI JABATAN TERHADAP KINERJA KARYAWAN

This study is a systematic literature review (SLR) aimed at systematically analyzing the effect of incentives and job promotion on employee performance based on empirical findings from various previous studies. The method employed is an SLR by reviewing 15 primary studies drawn from available documents (published between 2018–2022, predominantly within the Indonesian context, such as PT Tasindo Central Perkasa, Auto 2000, and other companies), complemented by relevant empirical journal articles and foundational studies, including Herzberg’s Two-Factor Theory (1959) and research by Mangkunegara (2005). The SLR process was conducted through three main stages: planning, conducting, and reporting, which included literature identification, article quality assessment, and thematic analysis. Using the PRISMA framework, the results indicate that incentives (both material and non-material) have a positive and significant effect on employee performance across various organizational sectors, with regression coefficients ranging from 0.154 to 0.99 in 80% of the reviewed studies. In addition, job promotion contributes positively to motivation and performance, with coefficients ranging from 0.705 to 0.846. Work motivation and job satisfaction act as mediating variables that strengthen the relationship between incentives, job promotion, and employee performance, while the work environment and job stress levels function as supporting factors. The limitations of this study include the reliance on secondary data and the limited number of analyzed articles, which restricts the generalizability of the findings. This study provides practical implications for organizational management in designing incentive and promotion systems that are fair, transparent, and performance-based in order to enhance employee motivation and performance. Recommendations for future research include conducting longitudinal and cross-cultural studies.
