Abstract

Emotional management is a vital skill for maintaining emotional balance and performance, particularly for police officers who often face high work-related stress. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of poster-based psychoeducation in enhancing understanding of emotional management and reducing stress levels among police officers. The program was conducted at the South Sulawesi Regional Police, involving 11 investigative officers aged 21-34 years. The method employed was a pre-test and post-test to measure changes before and after the intervention. The pre-test results revealed that many participants lacked an understanding of emotional management concepts and the challenges they face, whereas the post-test showed significant improvements in understanding and reductions in stress levels. Based on the emotion regulation theory by Gross (2015) and the stress coping theory by Lazarus and Folkman (1984), this intervention proved effective in helping participants recognize, understand, and manage their emotions. Poster-based psychoeducation can be a simple yet effective method to be widely implemented in supporting the emotional well-being and professionalism of police officers.
